Bob Munzner's computer experiences began in 1957 and have continued throughout his education at Loyola University working on an IBM-650 mainframe at the Air Force Cambridge Research center, then with the IBM-1400 mainframe at the Westinghouse Defense and Space Center. Later, while pursuing his doctorate in biomedical engineering at UVA, he used a prototype Linc computer and as a post doc at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, he programmed a PDP-8 computer for similar lab work. As a biomedical engineer for the FDA in the 1980's he learned to use the Microsoft programs for office work and communications. Now retired and living in Nelson County, he operates a small consulting business, maintaining his own web page and using the Internet to conduct business on his desktop while reserving his iPad tablet for games, personal email, and checking on the news of the day.
